Cornell Tech is a revolutionary model for graduate education that fuses technology with business and creative thinking. Cornell Tech’s 12-acre campus on Roosevelt Island is home to both Cornell Tech’s academic community as well as private sector companies developing and using digital technology in innovative ways. The Tata Innovation Center is a first-of-its-kind space for tech innovation, connecting academia and industry to commercialize new products and technologies. The Tata Innovation Center at Cornell Tech brings together a hand-picked mix of corporate and start-up companies to catalyze innovation and commercialization, driving economic growth for New York.

SRFA was engaged by Forest City Ratner, developers, and Weiss Manfredi, architects to develop a comprehensive art program.  We explored both interior and exterior sites as potential art locations and researched and presented for review over 30 artists working internationally whose work could reflect the mission and vision of The Tata Innovation Center.  SRFA managed all phases of the commission process to include development of RFPs, art fabrication management and supervision of installation. The two major resulting commissions, by Jacob Hashimoto of New York and Loris Cecchini of Milan are the focal points of the main lobby.
